UGC Anti-Ragging Affidavit Format

Affidavit · Last reviewed September 2026

This is a reference format, not legal advice. Most colleges accept a self-declaration filled directly on the official antiragging.in portal or their own admission portal - no stamp paper or notary needed. Some institutions specifically ask for a notarized version instead. Check your college's own admission instructions first.

When You Need This

Every student admitted to a UGC-recognised higher educational institution, and their parent/guardian, must submit a written undertaking under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging, 2009 - typically at the time of admission and again at the start of every academic year. Most colleges ask for both a student affidavit and a separate parent/guardian affidavit.

Enter Your Details

Pick whether you're filling this as the student or the parent/guardian - the wording changes to match. Generate it twice (once for each role) if your college needs both.

How to Use This Format

  • Check your college's admission portal first - many institutions only need this filled directly on antiragging.in or their own online form.
  • If a printed/notarized copy is asked for, generate both the student and parent versions above.
  • Sign in front of a Notary Public only if your institution specifically requires notarization - many accept a plain signed self-declaration instead.
  • Submit both copies along with your other admission documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most colleges ask for both - one signed by the student and a separate one signed by the parent/guardian, even though the wording differs slightly. Generate this twice, once selecting "Student" and once selecting "Parent/Guardian", if your institution needs both.
It depends on your institution. Many colleges only need you to fill the self-declaration on the official antiragging.in portal (or their own admission portal) and upload/print it - no stamp paper or notary needed. Some colleges specifically ask for a notarized affidavit on plain paper instead. Check your college's admission instructions before printing this on stamp paper unnecessarily.
