CBSE's official formula to convert CGPA into an equivalent percentage is Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. This has been the standard formula since 2011 and hasn't changed since. It comes from analysing the average marks of students who scored the top A1 grade (91–100 marks) — their average was approximately 95, and dividing 95 by the A1 grade point of 10 gives exactly 9.5, which anchors the entire conversion scale.
If you don't have your overall CGPA yet — only individual subject grades or grade points from your report card — use the "Calculate it from 5 subject grade points" option above. CBSE's CGPA is the average of the grade points of your 5 main subjects, rounded to one decimal place.
