Open IBPS PO Resizer →How to Take the Perfect IBPS PO Photo
IBPS PO — like most banking exams — includes an in-person biometric verification step at the exam centre for both Prelims and Mains: staff capture a live photograph and thumb impression and compare them against your application. That means your uploaded photo isn't only checked by a portal algorithm — someone at the centre will actually glance between your face and your photo, so it needs to genuinely look like you on exam day.
Do's
- Use a photo that resembles how you'll actually look on exam day — centre staff visually cross-check it during biometric capture
- Take the photo against a plain white or off-white wall or background
- Face the camera directly, both ears visible, no side angles
- Wear formal or semi-formal clothing similar to what you'd wear to the exam centre — no sleeveless tops
- Ensure even, shadow-free lighting on your face
- Keep a neutral, natural expression with mouth closed
- Ensure the photo is in focus and not blurry
Don'ts
- Don't upload a photo so old, or so heavily edited, that it no longer matches your current appearance — centre staff verify this in person, not just automatically
- Do not wear sunglasses or tinted glasses
- Do not wear a cap, hat, or headgear (exceptions for religious reasons)
- Do not use a heavily edited or filtered photo
- Do not use a photo older than 3 months
- Do not use a scanned copy of a photo from an old ID card
Because IBPS captures your photograph and thumb impression in person at both Prelims and Mains, a photo that looks noticeably different from your current appearance can create real friction during verification — not just a portal error. The standard rejection cause still applies too: a grey or off-white studio background that appears fine to the eye but reads as non-white to the portal's automated validator. Always use a pure white (#ffffff) background — our tool lets you set that exactly.
How to Resize Your Photo to IBPS PO Specifications
Open the resizer with IBPS PO's specifications already pre-loaded — upload your photo, crop it if needed, and download once the Form Readiness panel turns green. Since IBPS re-checks your photo in person at the exam centre, make sure it's a genuinely current likeness before saving it. For a full walkthrough of the tool, see our step-by-step resizing guide.
What Pixel Dimensions Should IBPS PO Photo Be?
The IBPS notification specifies the dimensions in millimetres (35mm × 45mm), but photo portals work in pixels. The equivalent pixel dimensions depend on the resolution (DPI) used:
| Resolution | Pixel Width | Pixel Height |
|---|---|---|
| 96 DPI (standard screen) | 132 px | 170 px |
| 150 DPI (medium print) | 207 px | 266 px |
| 300 DPI (high quality print) | 413 px | 531 px |
Our tool uses 96 DPI by default, which is standard for web uploads. If the IBPS portal specifically asks for a higher DPI, contact us and we'll help.
IBPS PO 2026 — Other Important Notes
- Keep your registered photo consistent for both Prelims and Mains — a big mismatch between your application photo and how you look at the centre can slow down the biometric check-in
- Bring printed copies of this same photo to the examination centre for both stages
- The IBPS portal may validate your photo automatically at upload — if it fails, the error will appear immediately
- Always download and save your resized photo in a clearly named folder before going to fill the form
Exam specifications may change with each new notification. Always cross-check with the latest official IBPS PO notification on ibps.in before submitting your application. SarkariKagaz.pro is not affiliated with the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
