Unlike the other exams above, GATE doesn't have one permanent domain — a different IIT (or IISc) organises it each year on a rotating basis, so the official site is a fresh subdomain each cycle (something like gate2026.iitX.ac.in). A bookmark from a previous year's GATE will not work for the current cycle. Search "GATE [current year] official website" fresh each time rather than reusing an old link.
How the Admit Card & Result Process Generally Works
Across almost all of these exams, the process follows a similar shape, even though the exact portal and login differ:
- The admit card (also called hall ticket or call letter) is released a fixed window before your exam date — this window varies by exam, sometimes just a few days, sometimes longer, so start checking the official portal regularly once your exam date is announced
- Log in using your registration number/roll number and date of birth or password, as instructed on the specific portal
- Download the PDF and save at least two copies — one on your phone, one printed
- Check every detail (name, photo, exam date, centre, reporting time) as soon as you download it — not the night before your exam
- Results are typically published as a roll-number PDF or through a login-based scorecard, on the same official portal — never through a third-party "result checker"

Photo or signature unclear
If your photo looks blurry, pixelated, or doesn't match what you uploaded, this is almost always a symptom of a photo that didn't meet the exact upload specification in the first place. Contact the exam body's official helpdesk immediately — don't wait until the exam date.
Name, category, or exam centre mismatch
Do not try to correct these yourself or attempt to edit the PDF. Reach out to the relevant exam body through their official grievance or helpdesk channel as soon as you spot the error.
